AN amazing set of BOTH CLASSES from L2A Senior Consummate Master Yuan Hui!

He furthers the difficulty, by designing it to encompass the Qian Gai 嵌盖 lid-to-body inset interface instead of the Jie-Gai 截盖 or Tian-Ya-Di Gai 天涯地 interfaces!
The shutlines are very narrow!
NOT ONLY THAT, HE BEWILDERS AND PAMPERS US WITH HIS AUDACITY TO CRAFT THIS IN ZHU SHA!!! ZHU SHA AS A ZHU NI, inherits high shrinkage, higher than Zi Ni and Duan Ni.
The possibility of this work coming through, is extremely low, he tried three times before getting this perfect piece out! Yes, this is his Fourth Attempt!
The previous pieces all incurred the inability of the lid to fit in/close, and of course, these misalignments after shrinkage during firing, are common but uncorrectable (do cherish a $195 Fang Gu by Chen Fa Chu: every Fully-Handmade ZiSha piece you hold from our Artist or Craftsman, is a miracle to have made it out from the kiln) and have to be abandoned.

Senior Master Yuan Hui, completes this whole set with twin cups and twin placement trays, which also took more than three attempts:
The cups are of tapering edge design, of delicate construct of four sides of SLIM Zhu Sha clay, carefully and gingerly combined together and with the Segmental-Corollary curves worked in. The tray is amazingly (miraculously) flat too and we know with Zhu Ni, sometimes, it "wobbles" during firing and what comes out is not flat to the Artist's intent.
Yuan Hui carefully performs the more rounded chamferring of the the top edges, for the Tea Master and Guest to drink from, with comfort on their lips:
Yuan Hui touches our hearts, when he does his trademark diligence of 45degree~1mm wide chamferring for "even" the Cups' base. The Cups in his eyes, "are equal to the main body pot in significance", as he said.

Senior Master Yuan Hui works with Artist Jin Li to engrave the Lotus flowers that crosses the body to lid! Calligraphy on the side facing the Guests (assuming Tea Master is right handed). Artist Jin Li also delightfully, SLOWLY engraves all the delicate lines and cues onto the two trays the matching Lotus Flowers and Leaves!
As usual, and we are always spoilt and delighted by Yuan Hui:
He performs such POLYGONAL/ANGULAR DAO JIAO, EVEN in places you won't usually associate with significance, but Yuan Hui does!
